Adaptation
Translating thoughts, words, silences…Mmm! Finding the exact right expression, without misrepresenting the author. Knowing how to distinguish between the written and spoken word. Respecting the space or the time allotted – we all know how the French language loves to express things in an indirect, sometimes even roundabout, way and usually requires more space than English. Keen summation and a clever choice of words come into play.
